Seeking a highly motivated chemist to investigate the role of vaccine carriers for influenza.

The Ainslie lab is located at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is #1 in the country. This position will be part of a NIH funded project. Our lab develops translational therapies to deliver therapeutics and modulate the immune system. Information on the Ainslie lab can be found at https:// www. ainslielab.com. As a post doc in the Ainslie lab you would be working closely with an interdisciplinary team and expected to be active in every level of the research from polymer development to work with different animal models. This position is a temporary position for 1-3 years. We are not seeking individuals interested in a long-term research position.

Educational Requirements

Doctoral-level degree in chemistry with a background in all of the following: organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials, synthesis of coordination complexes, photodynamic therapy, analytical chemistry, photochemistry, catalysis, and artificial photosynthesis.

Qualifications and Experience

- Possess at least two first author publications in English language peer reviewed journals.

-Required qualification and experience include the following chemical skills: mammalian cell culture, animal models, and isolation of murine primary cells.

-In addition, preference will given with one or more of the following skills: ELISAs. organic synthesis, synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials, synthesis of coordination complexes, photodynamic therapy, analytical chemistry, photochemistry, catalysis, and artificial photosynthesis.
