Group Leader Position in Computational Pathology (m/f/d)

The position is limited to five years. The salary is based on the fee group in TV-L.

A junior research group in computational pathology is to be established at the Institute of Computational Biomedicine at the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University and the University Hospital of Heidelberg. The group will also be embedded in the Medical Informatics HiGHmed consortium, and work in close collaboration with the Institute of Pathology at the University Hospital of Heidelberg.

The group will be funded for 5 years with a competitive start-up package.

Your responsibilities

The group should develop and a apply computational methods to analyse multidimensional data obtained from tissues, including histochemically-stained sections and tissue-based proteomics.

The methods will be applied primarily with partners within HighMed, in particular with the Institute of Pathology, with whom the group is expected to engage in the interpretation of the results. The major application area will be oncology.

Your profile

Candidates are expected to hold a degree and Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering or computer science, or in biological science with substantial experience in computational and statistical work.
