  英国牛津大学计算机科学系博士后

  Job Description

Senior Research Associate on foundations for non-parametric probabilistic programming

Department of Computer Science, Parks Road, Oxford.

  Grade 8 £41,526 - £49,553 per annum

A full-time postdoctoral researcher post, fixed-term for 3 years, reporting to Sam Staton, is available to investigate foundational aspects of the theory of probabilistic programming. The appointee will develop foundational aspects of the theory of probabilistic programming, for example, developing category theoretic foundations for synthetic measure theory, using tools such as quasi-Borel spaces. The exact scope of the research will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Candidates should have a PhD in computer science or mathematics, with substantial post-qualification research experience. They should be able to independently manage a research project, beyond their supervised PhD project. Candidates should have a strong background in category theory and measure theory, evidenced by strong published papers that substantially use these methods. The primary selection criteria include the abilities to conduct and complete research projects (as witnessed by peer-reviewed publications), and contribute ideas for new research projects; and writing skills. We would particularly welcome applications from women and black and minority ethnic applicants who are currently under-represented within the Computer Science Department.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 22nd July 2020. Our staff and students come from all over the world and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture.

Diversity is positively encouraged, through diversity groups and champions, for example https:// www. cs.ox.ac.uk/aboutus/women-cs-oxford/index.html, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example maternity leave.
