The recently established junior research group of Dr. Lisa Maier is seeking to recruit an outstanding

Postdoctoral fellow in the field of microbiome engineering.

The project aims at developing microbiota-targeted interventions to treat environmental enteric dysfunction (EED), a widespread disease among malnourished children that results in stunting with profound socio-economic consequences. The project will be at the forefront of research in microbiota-targeted interventions and the results will be of direct use to children living in the most impoverished regions of this world.

  Benefits:

This post-doctoral project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is embedded in a larger project executed in close collaboration with the Vonaesch Lab, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Basel. The Maier lab uses cutting edge technologies for high-throughput systems biology approaches in commensal bacteria and has access to various core facilities. We actively support our lab members with continuous scientific mentoring and academic training.
