  We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for an 18-month postdoc position to study basement membrane proteins, to commence 1st September 2020.

  Our research

  The Erler group’s research is focused on understanding how cancer spreads because this is what kills the majority of cancer patients. The projects cover a wide range of solid tumour types and we utilise a variety of diverse techniques. We are an international, diverse and inclusive group.

  Your job

  We seek to understand how the extracellular matrix influences cancer progression. Your task will be to focus on studying the influence of basement membrane proteins.

  Profile

  We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

  Essential experience and skills:

  o    You have a PhD in Biochemistry or similar

  o    You are highly experienced in basement membrane research

  o    You are highly experienced in protein production

  o    You are experienced in using in vivo models of metastasis

  o    You are experienced in breeding transgenic cancer models

  o    You are experienced in multiphoton microscopy

  o    You have an active interest in the extracellular matrix

  o    You have knowledge of cancer and metastasis

  o    Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams

  o    Excellent English skills written and spoken

  Desirable experience and skills:

  o    At least one high impact first author paper from PhD

  o    Awards received in recognition of scientific excellence

  Place of employment

  The place of employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and core facilities.

  Terms of employment

  The employment as postdoc is a full time and fixed-term position for 1.5 years. Starting date is 1st September 2020 or after agreement.

  Salary, pension and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at 33,600 DKK/ approx. 4,480 Euro (April 2018-level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.

  The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

  Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

  The position is covered by the “Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at the Universities” of June 28, 2013.

  The further process
