  亚利桑那大学心血管疾病病理学博士后招聘

The Churko Lab in the UArizona Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidates for the full-time position of Postdoctoral Research Associate I.

Dr. Churko’s research utilizes induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to identify the molecular mechanisms that underlie heart disease. By imitating heart developmental processes, the laboratory differentiates iPSCs into various cardiovascular lineages (cardiac fibroblasts, cardiomyocytes, epicardial cells, etc.) and employs molecular, functional, genomic, and proteomic approaches to understand heart pathophysiology. Current studies are focused on single cell technologies to generate cellular trajectories and modeling arrythmias using iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes.

The successful Postdoctoral candidate will possess a cell and molecular biology skill set appropriate to accomplish the lab’s goals. The position will require the use of high throughput sequencing technologies, bioengineering tissue constructs, single cell RNA-seq, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technologies, and bioinformatics to answer questions involving cardiovascular disease pathology.  In addition, they will possess the drive required to work independently, collaboratively, and publish finding. The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, the Sarver Heart Center, and the Bio5 Institute are dedicated to training the next generation of scientists, and the Postdoctoral candidate will benefit from the diverse and interdisciplinary environment at the University of Arizona.

With more than $606 million in research and development dollars from federal, state, and private sources, The University of Arizona currently ranks #21 among public universities in the US in overall research expenditures and #2 in physical science research. With world class faculty in fields as diverse as astronomy and space exploration, plant science, biomedical science and biotechnology, anthropology, Native peoples, business, law, philosophy, music, and dance, the UA is one of only 62 members in the Association of American Universities. The University’s main campus is situated in the heart of Tucson. Surrounded by mountains and the high Sonoran Desert, Tucson boasts a distinctive southwestern feel and enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine each year.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
