  Job Description

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Angela Ting (http://www.lerner.ccf.org/gmi/ting/) at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. Our research focuses on understanding the functional impact of abnormal DNA methylation in cancer. We employ next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies to identify epigenetic changes throughout the genome and carry out mechanistic studies to define the functions of these changes and their impact on the transcriptome and cancer biology. We are particularly interested in developing and testing hypotheses for novel alterations outside of the gene promoter context. We also leverage state-of-the-art single cell genomics to interogate these phenamenon at single cell reslution to delineate the heterogeneity observed in vivo.

Candidates must have scientific and technical expertise in molecular biology, RNA biology, biochemistry, transcription mechanisms, or computational biology. Additional requirements include a Ph.D. degree in biological sciences, a strong publication record, proficiency in spoken and written English, and the ability to work/troubleshoot independently as well as understanding and incorporating findings in the scientific literature into his/her research. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to take a lead role in data generation, analysis, interpretation, visualization, and manuscript preparation.

Please send your curriculum vitae and contact information for 3 references to Angela Ting (tinga@ccf.org).
