  美国国家卫生研究院博士后职位

The Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB), National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking outstanding postdoctoral candidates for laboratory research related to brain tumors. NOB is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of physicians, healthcare providers, and scientists who are dedicated to developing new therapies and improving outcomes for patients with primary brain and spinal cord tumors.

One postdoctoral position is available in the Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Section of the NOB laboratory in its exciting translational, interdisciplinary research team. NOB seeks creative and bright individuals who have a keen interest in making a substantial contribution to the understanding of function of oncometabolites, ranging from D-2-hydroxyglutarate, succinate and fumarate. The MCB employs translational techniques to explore the biologic function of oncometabolites, with a focus on the post-translational modifications throughout the proteomics. Further, we establish proof-of-concept investigation with latest in vitro and in vivo models, as well as patient-derived specimens for validation. Our ongoing efforts also include studying the cancer vulnerability pathways in oncometabolite-driven cancers for future molecular targeting. Experimental therapeutics are designed based on our preliminary findings, which provides strong justifications for future clinical translation and application.

Successful candidates should 1) have a strong research background in cancer biology, and especially the use of molecular/cellular approaches to investigate cancer biology and malignant phenotype is strongly encouraged, 2) have the ability to conduct semi-independent research and function as part of an interdisciplinary team, 3) have direct experience with many of the following laboratory techniques: cell culture, cell transfection, ELISA, Western blotting, protein complex profiling, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), Sanger Sequencing, ChIP-Seq, PCR, DNA cloning and subcloning, and site directed mutagenesis, 4) have expertise in confocal microscopy, flow cytometry and intracranial/subcutaneous mouse xenograft models, and 5) possess good communications skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree, preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, or related field, be near completion of degree requirements, and have no more than three years of postdoctoral research experience.
