  Job Description

  The Department of Surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate in cancer biology research. The Postdoctoral Associate is responsible for performing research activities and experiments in the laboratory on several aspects of research projects. The Postdoctoral Associate should be familiar with concepts in some of these areas: biochemistry, cellular & molecular biology, oncology, immunology, bioinformatics, and animal handling or other related experience. This position will assist the Principal Investigator and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of the University of Miami. This position will require advance knowledge and capability to exercise independent judgement when carrying out research activities and performing non-routine and complex laboratory projects. An advanced knowledge of breast cancer biology, stem cell biology, and high throughput Deep Sequencing/Proteomics Analysis is preferred but not mandatory.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Ph.D., M.D/Ph.D. (in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Immunology and Oncology or other related field) or M.D. (or equivalent, e.g. M.B.B.S). Computer skills, especially in bioinformatics analysis, are required; Power Point and other graphics software as preferred. Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written). Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

  Patient safety is a top priority.
