  The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual, international research University.

  The research team Applied Thermodynamics carries out applied research in energy technology and fluid dynamic code development. Research projects typically carried out with industrial, governmental and international cooperation partners. The research team is embedded in international Computational Fluid Dynamic networks developing application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and simulation technology

  Your Role

  The successful candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Investigating challenging issues related multi-phase flow, heat and mass transfer

  • Model development, validation and implementation in Lumped parameter codes,CFD Codes and Lattice Boltzmann Method Codes

  • Developing novel techniques/algorithms to address some of the identified critical issues

  • Disseminating results through scientific publications and conferences

  • Coordinating research projects and preparing project deliverables

  • Preparing new research proposals to attract industrial, national and European projects

  • Providing assistance in the supervision of PhD students

  Your Profile

  • A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields

  • Sound publication track record in the areas related to experimental or computational fluid dynamics

  • Knowledge of one or multiple areas listed below is highly desirable:

  o Multi Phase / Multi Component Flow Modelling

  o Multi Phase Heat Transfer Modelling

  o Multi Phase Instrumentation Technology

  • Experience with optimization and/or machine learning tools

  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python or C++ is a plus

  • Experience of working with industrial projects or public funded research projects related to resource management is highly desirable

  • Highly committed, excellent team-worker, and strong critical thinking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
