The Nguyen lab is looking for a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in a research program investigating molecular mechanisms of antibiotic tolerance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and antibacterial adjuvant discovery. The project will involve genetic, biochemical and microbiological approaches to study the interplay between stress responses, gram-negative envelope biology and antibiotic tolerance, as well as the development of assays for antibacterial adjuvant drug discovery.

The position requires a PhD in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics or related area, with a strong background in bacterial genetics, general molecular biology, biochemistry and/or microbiology methods. Experience in lipid and membrane biology, mass spectrometry and/or redox biochemistry are highly desirable but not required. This work will provide opportunities for collaborations with several groups at U. Maryland, Concordia, Guelph U, CalTech and MIT.

The Nguyen lab is part of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. The PDF position will be within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University, one of Canada’s top university in biomedical research.
