  Postdoc in Bioinformatics

  We are looking for a talented bioinformatician to join Yeast Metabolic Engineering group as postdoc. The candidate will work on project YEAST-TRANS funded by the European Research Council.

  In YEAST-TRANS, we study how small molecules are transported in and out of the cells and apply this knowledge to create better yeast cell factories for production of bio-based chemicals.

  Responsibilities and tasks

  Your responsibility will be to develop an open web application for predicting transpoters of small molecules.

  As bioinformatician in the group, you will be responsible for

  ·         Developing algorithms for predicting transporter function

  ·         Creating a web interface for public use

  ·         Publishing your results in peer-reviewed journals

  ·         Presenting your results at scientific meetings and at least one international conference

  ·         Collaborating with experimental scientists in the group.

  Qualifications

  Candidates must have a PhD degree in Bioinformatics.

  ·         Excellent track-record of scientific achievements (publications, patents, awards, grants, conference presentations, etc.)

  ·         Ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated research tasks, and also to be a part of the large research team

  ·         Team spirit and excellent collaboration skills

  ·         Excellent communication skills, fluent written and oral English

  ·         Well-organized, efficient, result-oriented, have excellent record keeping abilities.

  Salary and terms of employment

  The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

  The position is time limited until 31st December 2020.
