　　Postdoctoral position - structural studies of mitochondrial gene expression

　　An NIH funded post-doctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Dmitry Temiakov, at Thomas Jefferson University to study structural aspects of human mitochondrial gene expression (Hauke et al, Cell 2017 171(5)1072; Hauke et al, Cell 2017, 171(5) 1082; Agaronyan et al., Science 2015, 347:6221, Ringel et al, Nature 2011, 478:269). The laboratory is located in a newly renovated space of the Department of Biochemistry and has access to core resources for bioimaging, cancer research and structural biology. State-of-the-art Cryo EM facility is available via partnership with Princeton University.

　　We seek to hire an outstanding experimentalist with demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry and molecular cloning. Knowledge of biophysical methods (e.g. X-ray crystallography, SAXS, single particle cryo EM, in solution biophysics) is desirable. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics or equivalent: only candidates that have first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals will be considered.
