NIAID/NIH的R01目前支持这项工作。

  Job Description

Post-Doctoral Position in Infectious Disease Vaccine Research and Host-Pathogen Interaction

A new NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Pamela Hall, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. The Hall laboratory is located in the Multidisciplinary Research Facility on the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center campus in Albuquerque, NM.

Research: We study host innate defense against Staphylococcus aureus infection and vaccine interventions to inhibit virulence. The candidate will combine immunology, molecular biology, and microbiological approaches to evaluate the preclinical potential of a virus-like particle (VLP) based vaccine strategy to control production of S. aureus virulence factors (Daly et al, 2017, Scientific Reports, doi: 10.1038/s41598-017-00753-0). This work is currently supported by an R01 from NIAID/NIH. In addition to evaluating vaccine efficacy in multiple models of S. aureus infection, including models of reduced immune function, the candidate will design and produce novel VLP-based vaccines. Responsibilities include independent research, communication of research results, and participation in local journal clubs and Works-in-Progress presentations.

Qualifications: At a minimum, the successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or a related field with a record of peer-reviewed publications. The ideal applicant should have extensive experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification (FPLC), and mouse models of disease. Candidates with experience in in vivo imaging and vaccine research will be given preference. Experience in immunology, especially complex flow cytometry studies, is a plus. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with demonstrated ability to carry out independent research.

Instructions: Applications should include a cover letter describing the goals of the candidate for postdoctoral training, curriculum vitae, including a list of peer-reviewed publications, a brief description of current/prior research activities, and the contact information for three references. Interested applicants should submit materials to Dr. Pamela Hall by email at phall@salud.unm.edu. For best consideration, please apply on or before May 1, 2019. Proof of Authorization to Work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
