　　A postdoctoral fellowship within the field of gas separation membranes is offered at the Department of Chemistry, Umeå University.

　　Project description

　　Focus on scientific discovery and early conceptual development of novel polymeric materials for gas separation membranes is the main scoop of this project. The project involves fabricating defect free membranes, experimental and/or theoretical investigation of molecular transport in gas separation membranes, collect, analyze and interpret experimental data.

　　The fellowship is for 2 years. The starting date is 1st of March 2019 or according to an agreement and financed by Kempe foundation. The stipend is 288,000 SEK per year.

　　Qualifications

　　The required qualification is a doctoral degree or a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent in Chemistry or in another relevant field. To be eligible the degree should have been completed a maximum of three years before the end of the application period, unless special circumstances exist. In addition, it is required to have fundamental knowledge about polymer synthesis and documented experience in membrane fabrication for gas separation applications. Good skills in oral and written English is also a requirement. Experience in characterizing gas separation membranes, as well as the ability to design, assemble and modify experimental setups is a merit. Good ability to effectively collaborate multidisciplinary with others to develop new scientific understanding is demanded.
