  Job Summary

  We are an expanding research team in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan (U-M) Medical School. We are interested in the genomic basis of complex skin diseases, and have access to large amounts of unique genetic, transcriptomic, epigenetic, and clinical data.

  A postdoctoral position is available for an individual interested in

  Developing computational/machine learning approaches for analyzing biological/biomedical data

  Data-mining biomedical information from electronic health records, and integrating with molecular data

  Conducting systems biology researches and analysis for high dimensional data

  Required Qualifications*

  Candidates should have: (1) a PhD in computer science, biomedical informatics, statistics, computational biology, or a related field; (2) strong programming skills in traditional programming or scripting languages; (3) a strong interest in conducting biomedical research and designing innovative analysis pipelines to study high dimensional data; (4) excellent communication and writing skills, and a commitment to engaging in highly collaborative team science; and (5) a track record of appropriate scientific accomplishments, reflected in peer-reviewed publications.

  Desired Qualifications*

  Prior experience in conducting research in analyzing medical health records is a strong plus. Research experience in machine learning and/or analyzing genomic data is strongly preferred.
