摘要:哈佛大学公共卫生学院分子与细胞生物学方向博士后招聘 Harvard Chan School of Public Health

  ·         Harvard Chan School of Public Health

  ·         Location: Boston, MA

  ·         Job Number: 7054565

  ·         Posting Date: Nov 29, 2018

  ·         Application Deadline: Open Until Filled

  Job Description

The BioImaging Lab/NIHL Research Group at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is dedicated to studying the cellular mechanisms that lead to Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) susceptibility in Humans and investigating innovative approaches to preventing it. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our multidisciplinary team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/ Research Associate.

The postdoc will study the role of DNA damage and repair mechanisms as a contributor to NIHL susceptibility using cellular and mitochondrial stress models. Part of the project will focus on the role of miRNAs in regulating these mechanisms, in the context of hearing loss, and may later extend to the role of microvesicle/exosome signaling. Under the PI supervision, the postdoc will be responsible to design and conduct experiments to meet the project’s objectives and deadlines using all available resources in the lab or within the rich Longwood Research Area community. Other laboratory responsibilities, such as the supervision of a research student, might be assigned. Overall, the postdoc is expected to engage in the collective effort of the team in improving our understanding of hearing loss and championing novel approaches to prevent it.

  Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct and troubleshoots experiments to meet grant objectives and deadlines,

  • Analyze and present data, discuss results with PI,

  • Prepare oral and written reports or presentations,

  • Assist in the generation of progress reports and tasks related to grant proposals,

  • Provide support to students involved with the research.

  Requirements

  • PhD with or without previous postdoctoral experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in Cell Culture with rigorous and methodical aseptic technique.

  • Knowledge and experience in Molecular and Cell Biology including work with some of the following techniques: DNA damage and repair assays, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, PCR, gene expression, Nucleic Acid Manipulation (e.g. gene silencing, Crispr),

  • Experience in investigating DNA damage / repair mechanisms,

  • Good understanding of statistical tools to analyze experimental results and good record keeping practices (eg. Lab book)

  • Able to take initiative to solve any unanticipated issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in mitochondrial and exosome biology is desirable but not required
