　　Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.

　　We seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist as part of a collaboration between Professor Paul Klenerman’s and Holm Uhlig’s Group. The post will involve collaboration with several other research groups including Professor Fiona Powrie, Kennedy Institute, and Dr Sarah Teichmann, Sanger Institute. It funded by the Wellcome Trust as part of the Human Cell Atlas project and the postholder will play a key role in co-ordinating the different components in this important collaborative project. The post will be held in the Translational Gastroenterology Unit (TGU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital headed by Professor Paul Klenerman.

　　You will be an enthusiastic, motivated, highly organised postdoctoral scientist possessing knowledge and experience in immunology or/and transcriptomics with an ability to produce work to a high standard. The project involves research with clinical samples of large clinical cohorts of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and coeliac disease. You will be involved in a large genetics and immunology program aiming to understand the functional mechanisms of intestinal inflammation. We will investigate how single cell transcriptomics affects key immune pathways and how this related to intestinal inflammation. You work will involve sample collection, tissue preparation, single cell transcriptomics as well as analysis.

　　You will hold a PhD in Immunology or related sciences together with a desire to undertake cutting-edge scientific research will be advantage. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present results clearly and logically, working co-operatively as part of a team as well as independently, are also essential capabilities for this post.

　　The post is full-time and fixed-term for up to 2 years in the first instance.
