　　Job Description

　　NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Ferrone’s research group in the Department of Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The research  project is particularly focused on developing antibody-based immunotherapeutic strategies for the treatment of solid tumors  with special emphasis on strategies to counteract the escape mechanisms utilized by tumor cells. The fellow will have the opportunity to also engage in a project which characterizes the significance and molecular basis of HLA class I defects in solid tumors.  This position provides outstanding opportunities for continued scientific development and for contributing to pioneering research with high translational impact. The scientific environment at Massachusetts General Hospital and surrounding institutions such as Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers ample opportunity for productive collaborations.

　　We expect the fellow to be highly motivated, independent and innovative.  We will provide support and mentorship so that the fellow ultimately develops his/her own line of research.

　　Job requirements:

　　The candidate will have a PhD and/or MD degree. Prior laboratory experience is helpful but not required.  Likewise, knowledge of basic immunology is welcome but not necessary.
