摘要:伦敦帝国学院卵巢癌方向博士后招聘Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Research Associate post within the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre (OCARC) in the Division of Cancer at Imperial (Hammersmith Campus).

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Research Associate post within the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre (OCARC) in the Division of Cancer at Imperial (Hammersmith Campus). The OCARC was established with core funding from the charity Ovarian Cancer Action and comprises over 70 researchers from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London. The post holders will take a lead role in newly funded multi-disciplinary project funded by Cancer Research UK on ovarian cancer CLOCS (Lead, Dr. James Flanagan).

The successful applicant will take a lead role in a newly funded multi-disciplinary project grant for early detection of ovarian cancer called the Cancer Loyalty Card Study (CLOCS). The purpose of this post is to investigate a novel method for earlier detection of ovarian cancer. We have hypothesised that changes in purchasing behaviour, primarily an increase in self-medication to treat these vague cancer symptoms, may provide a novel avenue for earlier diagnosis for cancer. We will work with two high street retailers and utilise the large existing datasets in their loyalty card programmes from participants who consent to the study.

Applicants as part of their application must clearly state how they meet the essential criteria required of this post. In particular, applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in biology, computing, or closely related discipline, and should have a strong track record in data science, computing, epidemiology or health analytics. Knowledge of cancer risk, bioinformatics, data science, epidemiology and statistical methods procedures and practical experience within a research environment and or publications in relevant and refereed journals will be required. Additional knowledge in ovarian cancer risk and symptoms would be an advantage.

This position is full time and for a fixed term of 36 months for the first instance.
