摘要:美国加州大学旧金山分校肿瘤代谢方向博士后职位招聘 Postdoctoral Fellow University of California - San Francisco

  Postdoctoral Fellow

University of California - San Francisco

Individuals interested in investigating the molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis with a translational emphasis are encouraged to apply for postdoctoral training in the Nakamura laboratory at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Jean Nakamura, the Principal Investigator, is a physician-scientist and a practicing oncologist in the Cancer Center. A core objective of the Nakamura research program is to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for applications in oncology, and to this end, the lab collaborates with multiple interdisciplinary, translational research groups in the areas of genomics, metabolism, pre-clinical experimentation and imaging. We study in vitro and in vivo models as well as primary human cancer specimens and a major goal is to translate our findings into investigational trials for both therapeutics and prevention.

Our laboratory is located in the Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building at the Mission Bay Campus of UCSF. The newest of the UCSF campuses, the Mission Bay campus is a dynamic, scientifically vibrant environment with numerous shared resources to support cutting-edge research. In this highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, we have integrated genomic and functional analysis of mouse and human tumors to investigate molecular mechanisms driving cancer with particular focus on cancer cellular metabolism and therapeutic approaches. Appropriate candidates are individuals who will be awarded or recently awarded PhDs.

The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to develop a leadership role in a project and contribute as a collaborator to other efforts. Areas of study in our laboratory include cancer metabolism, kinase signaling, response to ionizing radiation and mechanisms of cancer resistance to therapy. Individuals having research experience in cell biology, biochemistry, kinase signaling, cellular metabolism and/or use of mammalian model organisms are sought. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to be involved in highly collaborative research involving multiple research groups (clinical and basic science) within UCSF as well as nationally and internationally. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English are mandatory.

Career development opportunities include development of scientific presentation and writing skills, development of leadership role in collaborative research, as well as paper presentation at national and international meetings. A PhD and fluency in spoken and written English are required.
