  An experimental (“wet-lab”) postdoctoral position in gene regulation and functional genomics is available in Dr. Haiyuan Yu’s group at Cornell University. Dr. Yu’s group works closely with Dr. John Lis’s group with weekly joint group meetings. Drs Yu and Lis jointly advise PhD students and postdocs, and are co-PIs for a newly-established functional characterization center within the ENCODE consortium. We are looking for motivated post-doctoral researchers to develop innovative functional genomic technologies to understand the fundamental architecture of transcriptional regulatory elements (enhancers and promoters), the impact of noncoding mutations on gene regulation, and how gene regulation changes genome wide under various disease conditions. Specifically, we will build upon the technologies that we have developed/implemented here across the two groups, such as Clone-seq, eSTARR-seq, and PRO-seq.

  The ideal candidate should have a strong track record and extensive lab experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and/or genetics. Experience with next-generation sequencing techniques is strongly preferred. Experience in network biology or systems biology is not required. The starting date is flexible and can be as early as December 2018. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
