　　Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 p.a.

　　Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Hagan Bayley on a research project funded by Cancer Research UK and OXSYBIO for a period of up to 8.5 months.

　　The project involves expertise in synthetic, engineered and hybrid tissues. The work will require experience of cell biology and tissue engineering. Experience in microfluidics and bioorthogonal covalent chemistry would be helpful. You should be able to adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols. The role will include work involving the culture and manipulation of mammalian cells. You should be able to test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypotheses as appropriate.

　　You should be able to represent the research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone

　　You should have a PhD in biochemistry, chemistry or physics or a related area or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up the appointment. The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford.
