Post-doctoral position - Cancer System & Computational Biology laboratory, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL : Chicago, IL, United States

We seek a strong post-doctoral candidate to join our Cancer System & Computational Biology laboratory located within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics of Northwestern University, Chicago, IL USA. Our group pursue research: 1) to determine novel genetic and non-genetic mechanisms driving tumor evolutution; 2) to identify novel biomarkers to predict immunotherapy response; 3) to investigate enhancer dysregulation in cancer. We combine a variety of approaches including computational analysis, NGS sequencing (including Single-Cell RNASeq, Whole Genome Sequencing, ChIP-Seq) and perform biochemistry assay using cell line models for example. A strong candidate should 1) have a solid background with PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular cell biology or genetics; 2) some experience in NGS sequencing and/or statistical analysis is prefered; 3) be collaborative, self-driven and motived to acquire necessary new skills to succeed working at the cutting-dege of cancer genetics and genomics.

Specific Responsibilities:

To conduct laboratory experiments.
To help write grants and compete for funding.
To supervise students and other techs working in the biochemistry lab.
To help write and contribute to publications resulting from research done in the lab.

PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular cell biology or genetics
