The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is a world leader in biological research, with an expanding scientific programme dedicated to understanding gene function in health and disease. Scientists are drawn to the LMB from all over the world, creating a lively and international community for the exchange of ideas and technical innovation.

We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join Dr Rebecca Taylor’s pioneering research programme, which focuses on defining the mechanisms utilized by neurons to activate cell non-autonomous stress responses.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant field of biology, or be due to complete doctoral studies within 6 months of applying, and should have experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetic techniques. A background in proteostasis or neurodegeneration, and some experience with C. elegans would be an advantage. Applicants should also be creative, enthusiastic, self-motivated and enjoy interacting with a dynamic interdisciplinary team sharing a passion for science and a commitment to explore the unknown.

The successful candidate will be awarded a three-year MRC Career Development Fellowship/MRCPostdoctoral Training Scheme, which is a training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline.
