Applications are solicited for an individual to be appointed as an postdoctoral associate under the supervision of Bart Kahr. The research will focus on the determination of the constitutive tensors of crystals with a particular focus on the chiroptical properties, optical rotation and circular dichroism. The candidate must be experienced in the calculi of light polarization.
Qualifications
Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in crystal optics and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have research experience in polarimetry of crystals, crystal growth, machine learning, electron and optical microscopy.
The terms of employment which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
