Post doctoral Research Associate

A NIH-funded postdoctoral research position with full benefits is available in the Molecular Vector Physiology Laboratory at New Mexico State University. The primary objective of this position is the characterization of mosquito amino acid transporters and associated signaling networks. 

The applicant must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry or a related discipline. A strong background in molecular biology and bioinformatics as well as peer-reviewed publications are required. Ideally, the candidate will have additional expertise in more than one of the following areas: electrophysiology, protein expression, high-throughput screening, assay development, analysis of -omics datasets, protein structure, and cell signaling.

Responsibilities will include development and execution of experiments, data analysis, manuscript preparation, presentation of results, and working with collaborators and other members of the research team at New Mexico State University, Rosalind Franklin University (Chicago), and the University of Maryland. Applicants must be self-motivated, methodical, detail-oriented, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
