Research Technician for Healthcare Associated Infection Research

University of Leeds - Section of Molecular Gastroenterology

Can you provide technical support to research studies? Do you have excellent analytical, organisational and time-management skills? Do you have technical skills in microbiology?

You will join an active research group comprising of Research Technicians, PhD students and post-doc researchers, engaged in a diverse range of objectives regarding Healthcare Associated Infection Research. Your key responsibilities will be to conduct housekeeping tasks to a high standard and to provide support to research activities by assisting the research group. You will have an interest in microbiology, and be prepared to learn and gain experience in a range of laboratory techniques.

With A level, BTEC or equivalent relevant laboratory experience, you will have experience in a microbiology or biomedical science laboratory (this can include a period in further or higher education) with effective practical skills at the laboratory bench and ability to work to a high level of accuracy.

This post is based within the School of Medicine in the newly merged Institute which will bring together the Leeds Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (LIBACS), Leeds Institute of Cancer and Pathology (LICAP), Academic Business Support team and St James’ Campus Infrastructure Facilities. The name of the new institute is currently being considered and will be confirmed in the near future.
