　　We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join an inter-disciplinary research team working on the European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant entitled ‘PULSE: Perception Ultrasound by Learning Sonographic Experience’. You will be part of a team of engineers/computer scientists and clinicians working on the research and development of next generation ultrasound systems which will be evaluated in the context of clinical obstetrics.

　　This post is available for 2 years in the first instance.

　　The ambitious objective of the project is to explore how the integration of perceptual cues derived from observing sonographers in the real-world can be utilised to make ultrasound imaging and image interpretation easier for the non-specialist. This particular Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) position will investigate how to design deep-learning based ultrasound video analysis methods for navigation and guidance, using prior knowledge of eye-gaze and probe motions.

　　You will be responsible for the development and implementation of novel computer vision and learning algorithms and work with clinical researchers on their design and evaluation. You will also contribute to studies on understanding sonographer skills and skills assessment which are being conducted in the clinical research component of the project.

　　You should possess a doctorate, or near completion of doctorate in computer vision or machine learning applied to biomedical imaging and a background/expertise in image or video recognition and machine learning.
