摘要:

Researcher or Senior Researcher in Reactor Physics/ Neutronics

Technical University of Denmark - DTU Nutech

The Radiation Physics Division of DTU Nutech invites applications for a position as Researcher or Senior Researcher in Reactor Physics/ Neutronics.

The Radiation Physics Division carries out research, innovation and research-based consultancy in the fields of neutronics, dosimetry and luminescence physics, with applications within reactor physics and nuclear emergency preparedness, radiation therapy and diagnostics, radiation processing, and geological and archaeological dating. The division presently consists of approx. 40 people including researchers, technicians and PhD students.

Neutronics research at DTU Nutech aims at contributing to the design and operation of nuclear fission and fusion reactors and neutron spallation sources. Of particular importance is our collaboration with the European Spallation Source (ESS), currently focusing on neutronics design and optimisation of the facility, and with the ITER fusion reactor.

Reactor physics research at DTU Nutech aims at contributing to the continued development of sustainable nuclear energy, and it provides a knowledge base for scientific advice and support for the Danish Emergency Management Agency.

Responsibility and tasks
We seek an innovative and visionary researcher to strengthen our neutronics/reactor physics group. The successful candidate will contribute to the further development of our research agenda in neutronics and reactor physics. He/she will actively collaborate with external research groups in reactor physics, aiming at expanding both our network and knowledge base in the field. DTU Nutech is currently involved in collaborative projects on molten salt reactor technologies and the successful candidate is expected to contribute to this activity.

We have a strong collaboration with ESS, and the successful candidate will be able to actively collaborate on neutronics R&D with groups from ESS as well as from other research institutions worldwide.

The appointee will be expected to undertake teaching in radiation physics or related areas at all university levels as well as participate in administrative duties.

Qualifications
Candidates for a

  • researcher position must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)
  • senior researcher position must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent), as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc

The successful candidate is expected to have a broad background in neutronics and/or reactor physics, and would likely have documented experience in reactor physics modelling.

The candidate will have a good record of publication and other professional achievement and will have a well-established international collaboration network.  The candidate will have demonstrated ability to attract funding from national and/or international sources. As we host both Danish and international students and research visitors, a record of experience in research supervision is desirable.

Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to:

  • Research impact and experience, funding track record and research vision
  • Experience and quality of teaching
  • Societal impact
  • Documented innovation activities, including commercialization and collaboration with industry
  • International impact and experience
  • Leadership potential and collaboration
  • Communication skills
