摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellowships in Experimental Genetics, Epigenetics and Functional Screens : Austin Area, TX, United States

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Science Park invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships in experimental cancer genetics, epigenetics and CRISPR screens starting August 1, 2018. Using state-of-the-art gene-editing and functional genomics/proteomics techniques, we seek to identify genetic and epigenetic biomarkers for human disease precision medicine, synthetic lethal and resistance mechanisms underlying disease development and signal transduction at the systems level. The postdoctoral research will be performed in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment with world-class experts and advanced technologies and facilities, which provide unique and ideal career development opportunities for postdocs. Successful candidates will be supervised by Dr. Nidhi Sahni, a faculty member and recognized leader in molecular signaling and network biology at MD Anderson Science Park. Dr. Sahni has received numerous prestigious awards, including Sloan Research Fellowship, Pinnacle Research Award, Rising STARs Award, CPRIT Scholars Award, among others. The candidates will be co-supervised by Dr. Mark Bedford, a well-known expert in the field of arginine methylation and for his development of protein domain microarray platform to interrogate the role of posttranslational modifications in driving protein interactions in signal transduction (MD Anderson), and Dr. Song Stephen Yi, faculty of Dell Medical School (UT Austin). Recent representative publications include Cell (2015), 161: 647-60; Nature Rev Genet (2017), 18: 395-410; Cell (2015), 161: 661-73; Cell (2017), 168: 856-66; Cancer Cell (2018), 33: 450-462. MD Anderson Cancer Center is ranked No. 1 cancer hospital in the world and has the most awarded research grants from National Cancer Institute. MD Anderson Science Park is located near Austin, the capital of the State of Texas, and offers excellent cancer research programs and state-of-the-art sequencing and other core facilities.

Requirements:
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, genetics/epigenetics, immunology, or relevant fields. Experience with high-throughput genomics, CRISPR screens and next-generation sequencing preparation and analysis is a plus.

Application process:
Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing your past research experience, a curriculum vitae, and the contact information of three references to Dr. Nidhi Sahni (nsahni@mdanderson.org) with the subject line “Postdoc Application in Experimental Genetics/Epigenetics and Functional Screens”.
