　　Post-doc position in cell fate of epigenetic reprogramming: Leuven, Belgium

　　The Pasque group is studying epigenetics, cell fate reprogramming and pluripotency. We are interested in understanding how cell identity and gene expression is reprogrammed after transcription factor expression and how epigenetic silencing contributes to health and disease. 　　Our project will define the mechanisms that regulate mammalian cell fate reprogramming and pluripotency by exploiting recent advances in single cell omics and CRISPR. We aim to unravel the epigenetic and gene regulatory mechanisms that control the maintenance versus reversal of cellular identity. You will define how different subpopulations of cells evolve during cellular reprogramming to pluripotency and study key regulators of cellular heterogeneity.

　　You will collaborate with other groups within and outside of KU Leuven.

　　Responsibilities

　　The research will focus on the discovery of the molecular pathways influencing cell state transitions during reprogramming somatic cells to induced pluripotent stem cells. To achieve this, the candidate will apply and develop novel tools that will enable dissecting those pathways.

　　Profile

　　Candidates must have obtained a PhD degree.

　　Candidates should have at least 1 first author publications. 2 first author publications is a plus.

　　General knowledge of deep sequencing data analysis is highly desirable.

　　A very good command of spoken and written English is required and sufficient for communication within and outside the laboratory since Leuven is very international.

　　The position is funded for 2 years with possibility of extension.

　　The project is funded by the Flanders Research Foundation Odysseus Programme (FWO) and the KU Leuven.
