摘要:

The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin is an international research institute with approx. 350 employees, working in the field of molecular genetics. A special focus lies on functional genomics of man and other organisms.

The research group of Dr. Denes Hnisz has open positions for:

Postdoctoral Associate / Staff Scientist
Computational Biology
(E14 TVöD)
Code: 1812 M

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic computational biologist/bioinformatician to study principles of gene control underlying critical physiological and pathological cell states. We seek to understand how transcriptional programs are established during development, how their corruption leads to human pathologies, and how this knowledge can be used for therapeutic manipulation of human disease genes. We operate on the interphase of biology, chemistry and physics in a highly collaborative way to solve fundamental problems in gene regulation, currently using embryonic stem cells, cancer models, state-of-the art genetic and biochemical perturbation technologies, genome structure mapping and computational methods.

The successful candidate should have a passion to solve mysteries in the biomedical research space, and the willingness and ability to learn and adapt to competitive environments. A PhD degree or a similar qualification in Bioinformatics/Biology is required. Strong coding skills, and experience with Next Generation Sequence analyses are essential. The position will also involve developing and maintaining cutting edge genomics analytical pipelines.

Further information on the lab and the Institute is found at:https://www.molgen.mpg.de/Genome-Regulation/Hnisz-lab"

The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin is the flagship institute of the Max Planck Society for genome research, offering an internationally competitive research environment and cutting edge infrastructure for genomics and big data tools. The institute is located in Berlin, a thriving European capitol, and offers competitive salaries and excellent social benefits.

The position is available as of now but starting dates are negotiable.

The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more individuals with disabilities and especially encourages them to apply. The Society seeks to increase the number of women in those areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply.

Interested candidates should submit their application including (i) a brief cover letter (describing your motivation), (ii) a CV, (iii) contact information of 2-3 references. Please send all documents as a single pdf-file via e-mail. Further inquires are also welcome.
