摘要:
The Suh Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is actively seeking 1-2 highly motivated postdoctoral fellows interested in utilizing contemporary computational (epi)genomics methods and approaches to address biological questions related to aging and aging-related diseases. Candidate should possess a decent background in genomics and bioinformatics, and display a strong interest in applying cutting-edge next-generation sequencing-based technologies to aging research.

The candidate fellow will be involved and primarily responsible for:
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting publicly available data, including (epi)genomic annotation hubs, transcriptomic/proteomic databases, and GWAS and high-throughput sequencing datasets from individually relevant studies.

  • Generating novel hypotheses from the analysis and integration of data resources both inside and outside of the lab and developing research strategies.
The Scientific Community: Albert Einstein College of Medicine offers a highly interactive and stimulating academic environment for scientists in training who also benefit from the programs within The Einstein Center for Epigenomics, the Aging Institute, the Department of Genetics, and throughout the school. We are located in a pleasant residential area in the northeast corner of New York City with an easy commute to Manhattan and the suburbs of Westchester County. We offer competitive salary and benefit packages with optional postdoctoral housing on campus.

Qualifications include:
  • A doctoral degree in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology or another appropriate field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NGS data analysis flow and hands-on experience with at least one aspect of its applications (g., WGS/WESRNA-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of human genome, gene expression, and cell biology.
  • Familiar with R and one of another programming languages, e.g., Python, Perl or Java.
  • Experience with meta-analysis or machine learning is highly preferred.
  • The ability of independent learning and thinking in a highly dynamic and decentralized environment, as well as being a team player to contribute to many ongoing collaborative projects.
