Job Description
The Department of World Languages and Literatures in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral teaching fellowship in Spanish, with an emphasis on Chicanx and Latinx studies to begin August 1, 2018. The fellow will be responsible for teaching a two/two course load for the academic year, which will include undergraduate courses and graduate courses. Course topics will include Chicanx and Latinx literature and culture and teaching Core Humanities. In addition, the fellow will serve in various departmental committees as needed. This postdoctoral teaching fellow position is a one-year appointment to begin August 1, 2018 and ends June 30, 2019.
Required Qualifications
Must have native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English; a Ph.D. in Spanish or an equivalent degree with a focus on Chicanx or Latinx cultural studies completed between May 2014 and August 2018; two years of successful teaching experience at the college or university level; and the ability to work productively and cooperatively with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal applicant will display effective experience teaching Spanish literature and culture courses, and the willingness to mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
