Postdoctoral Fellow Positions, Division of Hematology-Oncology, University of Alabama, Birmingham

A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ravi Bhatia, MD for studies of mechanisms of leukemia stem cell transformation, growth regulation and drug resistance, and development of novel approaches to target leukemia stem cells.

Specific areas of investigation relate to interface between altered microenvironmental, metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms in altered growth and drug resistance of leukemia stem cells. Relevant laboratory publications include Cancer Cell, 2012 21: 266, Cancer Cell, 2012 21:577, Cell Stem Cell 2014 15:431, and J Clin Invest 2016 126(3):975.

An MD or PhD degree or foreign equivalent is required. A candidate with a strong background in molecular and cell biology, and experience in studying primary human and murine hematopoietic stem cells will be preferred. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
