　　Job Description

　　We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join the Environmental Science Research Division and work on a 3-year BBSRC funded project to investigate the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in arable soils planted with cover crop green manure mixtures.

　　You will work on the DIVERSE project (DI Verse crop residues Engender Resilience of Soil functions and Ecosystem services) and investigate whether the incorporation of cover crop residue mixtures into arable soils provides benefits that are greater than the sum of the parts. It is hoped that the findings will not only change agricultural practice by developing new cover crop mixtures, but also revolutionise our understanding of the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in soils.

　　You will have:

　　A PhD or equivalent in Environmental Science or other relevant discipline

　　Excellent laboratory analytical skills

　　An excellent understanding of major soil biogeochemical cycles (particularly C and N)

　　Strong skills in quantitative analysis of environmental data

　　Excellent oral and written communication skills
