Job Description
Advanced Photonics Research (APR) Lab at School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the field of optoelectronics/nanophotonics based on emerging materials (e.g. 2D layered materials and perovskite). The central theme of our research focuses on developing a new class of semiconductor-based light sources for next-generation optical and quantum computing. Our lab's most recent research on strained germanium nanowire laser has been published in Nature Communications, and our team is now seeking one candidate who can push our expertise to 2D materials and beyond.

The successful candidate is expected to perform one or more of the following tasks:
- Device design and simulation using commercial softwares (e.g. LUMERICAL, COMSOL) 
- Fabrication of optoelectronic/nanophotonic devices using emerging materials
- Optical characterizations and analyses
 
The successful candidate should possess:
- PhD degree in electrical engineering, applied physics or related areas
- Strong research background on photonics
 
Salary and terms of employment: Successful candidates can expect competitive salary and benefits. Monthly salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and research experience. Settling-in allowance will also be provided. The period of employment is 2 years.
