Post-doctoral and Research Associate Positions Available in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto

Multiple Post-doctoral Research Fellow and Research Associate positions in the area of metabolic engineering and synthetic biology are available at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto.

This position is a part of a collaborative research project with Industry.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have an excellent understanding of yeast physiology.
• Experience with engineering yeast is a must
• Non-sac yeast experience is preferred
• Experience with CRISPR-Cas system is desirable

Experience in any of the additional following areas is beneficial: enzyme screening, protein engineering, high throughput enzyme assays, liquid-handling robots, state-of-the-art genome editing methods, metabolic flux analysis, and yeast biochemistry.

This position is for an interdisciplinary project involving active collaboration with microbiologists, biochemists and engineers.

The initial appointment term is for a year with the possibility of longer term extension.
