摘要:

The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. We perform cutting-edge research in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health. By performing fundamental and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for major challenges facing society, science and economy. PSI is committed to the training of future generations. Therefore about one quarter of our staff are post-docs, post-graduates or apprentices. Altogether PSI employs 2100 people.

For use at the beamlines of the Swiss Light Source (SLS) -one of the most advanced radiation sources worldwide -the detector group develops high speed solid state detectors. For the development of detectors with high-Z sensor materials (CdTE and GaAs) ,we are looking for a

Postdoctoral Fellow, Detector Development

Your tasks

Characterisation of CdTe and GaAs pixel and strip sensors using single photon counting and charge integrating readout chips. Participation in beamtimes at synchrotrons, analysis of the data and publication of the results.

Your profile

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics preferably in the field of hybrid detector development. You have good knowledge of analogue and digital electronics and sensors for solid state detectors. Experience in C/C++ programming, data analysis and experience in synchrotron radiation instrumentation and specifically high-Z sensors would be appreciated. You will work as a team player in a stimulating international environment, giving you excellent opportunities for new initiatives and independent research.

We offer

Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. You will profit from a systematic training on the job, in addition to personal development possibilities and our pronounced vocational training culture.
