摘要:

Salary: Grade 7: £31,076 - £38,183 p.a.

THIS IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT OF VACANCY ID 130620. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.

We seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Alison Simmons’s lab at the MRC Human Immunology Unit, Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine. The lab has extensive experience mapping heterogeneity of rare human and murine intestinal cells in health and IBD using single cell RNA sequencing and the post-doc will work closely with other members of the lab developing similar themes. The post-doc will also work in collaboration with Dr Puri’s Immunology and Inflammation group at Celgene who have developed imaging assays to assess NOD2 pathway activity in mucosal cells. The work will be supported by bioinformatics fellows in the Simmons group and WIMM Centre for Computational Biology.

The goal of this project is to define the cellular and molecular structure of tissue inflammation occurring in the presence of NOD2 and autophagy pathway defects in inflammatory bowel disease. The work will involve using the latest single cell approaches to map transcriptional and functional changes occurring in rare intestinal cells in new diagnosis and drug resistant disease. The post-doc will develop test novel biomarkers based on these findings to stratify an IBD cohort according to defects in NOD2 signalling signatures. This will identify patients for whom tailored therapeutic approaches are required.

You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil of relevance to immunology and have experience working with primary human and murine intestinal cells.

The post is full-time and fixed-term for up to 2 years initially.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on 6 November 2017 will be considered.
