Applications are invited for appointment to the one-year post of Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on the EPSRC funded project Next Generation Paper. The post involves qualitative ethnographic research with tourists and leisure visitors exploring their use of paper based and digital media.

 

This is the first part of a multi-stage project exploring the use of paper based and digital media by tourists and leisure visitors. It assesses potential solutions for integrating print and digital sources by trialling them with the public, leading to the development of a new form of paper with links to the web.

 

Applicants will have a PhD in Human Geography, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Travel and Tourism, or associated fields. Knowledge/experience of one or more of the following: travel and tourism, qualitative methods, digital cultures, mobilities studies. The Post will work closely with the University of Surrey where a substantial proportion of the post will be based.
