The role: The successful appointee will be responsible for omics research including genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and genome scale modelling, and meta-omics in a multi-disciplinary team working on methane bioconversion to liquid chemicals. There are opportunities to work with UQ’s Australian Ecogenomics Centre led by Prof Philip Hugenholtz and Prof Gene Tyson.

The person: Applicants should possess a PhD in genomics or bioinformatics, molecular biology, or microbial physiology. You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in (meta)omics and bioinformatics, microbial ecology, molecular microbiology, microbial physiology and microbial biofilms. Ability to apply bioinformatics tools to complex microbial processes is essential.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

Remuneration: This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for three years at Academic Level A or B, depending on qualifications and experience. The remuneration package will be in the rangeAUD$81,545 – $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range AUD$97,961 – $131,446 p.a.).
