MiNA Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Research Scientist to join its research team developing novel therapeutics in the field of RNA activation. The candidate will join a small multidisciplinary team sitting at the core of MiNA’s drug development effort which includes supporting its first clinical candidate MTL-CEBPA.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Establish cell-based assays for selecting and optimising oligonucleotides for RNA activation
• Design and conduct pharmacodynamic analysis and mode of action studies
• Manage external collaborations including CROs and academic collaborators
• Help develop and validate new therapeutic opportunities
• General laboratory support working collaboratively with other team members

Qualifications:
• PhD in biological sciences or equivalent
• At least 3 years Post-doc or industry research experience in life science with a track record of publications

Skills and Experience required:
• Sterile mammalian tissue culture essential with experience with both primary cells e.g. hepatocytes, immune cells as well as established cell lines
• Molecular and cell biology techniques including quantitative PCR, Western blot and ELISA, RNA/DNA/protein extraction from cells and tissues, molecular cloning, quantitative protein/nucleotide interaction assays,
• Experience of DNA or RNA transfection of cell lines is essential
• Experience with oligonucleotide based therapeutics is preferred
• Experience working with microarray sequencing platforms or data generated from multiplex platforms highly desirable
• Experience of working with acrylamide and non-denaturing agarose for RNA analysis highly desirable
• Experience of immunobiolgy and/or bioinformatics skills is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present data clearly and accurately
• Good organisation, planning, and problem solving skills
