摘要:

The BioLabChip group at DTU Nanotech invites applications for one Post-doc fellowship position to participate in the development of a new instrument for real-time detection and quantification of pathogenic bacteria.

DTU Nanotech conducts cross-disciplinary research where micro- and nanotechnology is applied to a wide range of scientific disciplines, for instance, mechanics, optics, chemistry, medical technologies and biotechnology.

Responsibilities and tasks
As part of the ISOAMKIT/VIVALDI projects your main focus will be the development and testing of the electronic and optical systems necessary to realize a market-ready diagnostic instrument. The detection is based on optical detection of DNA amplifying assays, and should include a heater and heater control for the target samples. You will also be expected to participate in the development and integration of the control systems and software for automation of the procedure, as well as give your input to the design and properties of the polymer chips based on your expertise in the overall system design.

Since the EU funded Vivaldi project aims at achieving formal validation of the developed technology, the job position offers a unique chance to follow the development of a lab instrument all the way from the initial R&D phase, and into actual lab use in the QA/QC labs of the collaborating industrial partners. This also means that you should be structured in your work, and be able to write and provide documentation of the parts and procedures used during the development of the instrument.

Apart from solid and well-documented experience in electronics engineering and systems development, experience in simulations of physical systems using COMSOL will be considered an advantage. Also, the ability to design and draw customized parts using 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Inventor, or SolidWorks), as well as any experience in fabricating parts using tools such as 3D printing, laser cutting and/or micro milling, is highly appreciated.

Qualifications
