Job Description
One NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Hermann in the Department of Biology, University of Texas at San Antonio to study molecular and cellular mechanisms driving specification of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) in animal models and humans. The Hermann lab studies SSC origin and fate using a variety of molecular and cellular techniques, single-cell genomics (e.g., RNA-seq), transgenic mouse models and conditional knockouts, as well as SSC transplantation. Candidates must have a PhD in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, genetics, reproductive biology, or a related discipline. Experience with germ cell or stem cell biology, molecular and cell biology techniques, and animal models is desired, but not essential.
