Job Description
The Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will collaborate on immune-mediated research of eye diseases and study the use of spectral domain Optimal Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration and retinal diseases with the ultimate goal to measure the efficacy of treatment. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the application of novel SD-OCT algorithms towards understanding the natural history of dry AMD and evaluation of novel treatment strategy for dry AMD; establishing and organizing clinical databases and assisting in the early clinical trials using new treatment modalities; will be responsible for reading and quantifying images obtained from the patient's clinical trials. Will assist with additional studies using SD-OCT; will also be responsible for developing new algorithms to investigate macular diseases. The Postdoctoral Associate will be a collaborator in the expansion of techniques used to bring the Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in becoming a leader in imaging research for clinical trials incorporating SD-OCT.The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: M.D. and/or Ph.D. in a relevant field of study. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an excellent command of the English language.
