Postdoctoral position available in the field of Organic Chemistry 
(Postdoctoral position available in the laboratory of Prof. Sanjay Malhotra at Stanford University)

The Division of Cancer Biology in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated synthetic organic chemist postdoctoral candidate with experience to investigate the synthesis of chiral compounds. The successful candidate will be involved in design and multistep synthesis of heterocyclic molecules as potential chemical probes to study biology. Applicant should have a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry and demonstrated record of publications. The candidate will work as part of a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team. Therefore, should be independent in designing synthetic routes, solving challenging synthetic problems and synthesize target molecules. S/he is expected to have good communication skills, and knowledge of standard characterization techniques (NMR, UV-VIS, LC-MS, etc.).

The Malhotra Lab is located in the Stanford University School of Medicine with state-of-art research infrastructure for synthetic and medicinal chemistry. The multidiscipline research environment provides unique and outstanding training and various collaborating opportunities. The postdoctoral candidate will have direct access to modern research tools. Dr. Malhotra is committed to mentoring and training the candidate, providing all the support the candidate needs to reach their career goal.

Qualifications: 
1. Prior experience in multistep synthesis of chiral compounds or natural product. Expertise in analysis and characterization of Organic molecules.
2. Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Biology. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in Organic/Medicinal chemistry and chemical biology is expected. 
3. Applicants must be able to learn and develop new skills such as mass spectrometry methods that are required for the studies. Previous experience with cell based assay and/or mouse model is desirable.

Appointment Term: Two years
