摘要:

The Rzhetsky laboratory in The University of Chicago’s Department of Medicine, in concert with the Computation Institute (CI) and the Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology (IGSB), is seeking two postdoctoral fellows to assist with investigations into the etiology of complex neuropsychiatric diseases, such as bipolar disorder. The lab includes research faculty whose interests encompass the development and application of drastically new mathematical and computational strategies to infer causal relationships among genetic variation, environmental variables, and psychiatric phenotypes.

The Conte Center for Computational Neuropsychiatric Genomics is an interdisciplinary and multi-institutional effort based at The University of Chicago. Their partner, The Institute for Genomics and Systems Biology, is an engine for discovery that utilizes the latest approaches in genome analysis, high throughput screening, and biological computation to advance both human and environmental health. The overarching goal of the Conte Center is to identify the genetic and environmental factors that underlie psychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorders, and child and adolescent psychopathology.

These positions require motivated, well-qualified applicants with strong quantitative backgrounds and documented productivity, willing to dive into biomedical data modeling and analysis at a whole-country scale. Funding is available for a competitive salary, supplies, and travel. All candidates must hold an M.D. or PhD.
