研究癌症转录和翻译调节机制，尤其针对前列腺癌和乳腺癌；主要研究方向：肿瘤细胞中肿瘤抑制基因的靶向激活、肿瘤进展中RNA蛋白翻译调节及相关作用机制的研究。

入选者将参与建立和应用3D 组织培养模型和自发小鼠肿瘤模型等肿瘤遗传学项目。

应聘要求：

1、具备细胞生物学、生物化学、遗传学或免疫学博士学位。掌握荧光原位杂交技术、dCas9-mediated转录调节、RNA 蛋白翻译或肿瘤干细胞研究经验者更佳。

2、具备团队合作精神；独立工作能力；良好的沟通和写作及ppt成果展示等能力。

Two postdoctoral research positions are available in Dr. Lizhong Wang's research lab (lwang12@uab.edu) within the Department of Genetics, Comprehensive Cancer Center and University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Qualified candidates should have a recent PhD in cancer cell biology, biochemistry, genomics or immunology. Individuals with experience in analysis of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), dCas9-mediated transcriptional modulation, RNA translation, or cancer stem cells are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will explore regulatory mechanisms of transcription and translation in cancer, especially prostate cancer and breast cancer. These projects will be focused on targeting reactivation of tumor suppression gene in tumor cells and identifying role of oncogenic RNA translation in tumor progression. The applicants will also be involved in other ongoing projects in the field of cancer genetics using 3D organotypic cell culture models, as well as mouse models. The candidate must be able to work in a group/team environment, while also being able to work independently. Strong communication skills are need for writing and presentation of research in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
